For years now, Jax Liquidation Outlet (580 Massachusetts Ave in Central Square near Metro PCS) has appeared to be going out of business. Jax, which has been a Central Square fixture for over 20 years used to be known as the Friendly Family Center. Their lease has expired and they could not reach an agreement to renew it. The landlord has been looking for a replacement tenant. Manray, a club that closed in 2005 on Brookline Street tried to go in but the sound was deemed to much for the space with the apartments right upstairs. Jax's has been operating under a series of two month leases. Given the short nature of it's agreement the store has been forced to limit it's inventory. There is still time to head over to Jax's and save twenty percent on already low prices on home goods and supplies. |

A Poignant, Touching Portrait PHOTOGRAPH 51 by Anna Ziegler directed by Daniel Gidron February 9 - March 4, 2012
In 1951, British biophysicist Rosalind Franklin became a research associate at King’s College in London, where her X-ray imaging revealed DNA’s double helix structure, leading to the Nobel Prize for Francis Crick, James Dewey Watson, and Maurice Wilkins. As told with wit and urgency by a chorus of scientists who relive the competitive chase to be the first to map the DNA molecule, Photograph 51 is the story of the fiercely independent spirit of a young, ambitious scientist and her unsung, trailblazing achievements. Winner of the 2008 Stage International Script Competition for Best New Play About Science & Technology.
Produced by The Nora Theatre Company. |
