A $148,000 piece of software for the Woodland Police Department could help identify criminals based on their personal and “professional” characteristics.
Money from the “NCS-X Implementation Assistance Program: Support for Local Law Enforcement Agencies” was awarded to Woodland last September by the U.S. Department of Justice. However, the city only needed $142,908 to buy the package, although it is budgeting $3,888 annually to pay for “maintenance.”
