CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KWWL) — Officers with the Cedar Rapids Police Department are getting national recognition after a 2016 call for service turned into something much bigger for one family.

It’s part of a national campaign called “ShareBlueSmiles” that focuses on shining a light on officers who go above and beyond, according to a press release.
