Dothan Eagle: Smart meters on the way for Dothan Utilities customers

Years of planning and testing have provided results: Dothan Utilities is implementing a smart metering system.

The Dothan City Commission approved contracts with Aclara, Superion, and Cintel Solutions to facilitate the rollout of the Advanced Metering Infrastructure system, which will provide DU customers and officials several benefits. The commission also approved the purchase of the 43,000 water and 30,065 electric meters and some other equipment necessary to operate the system.
