Agencies in Missouri and Montana explain how using AI helps reduce paperwork and lets officers spend more time on important tasks.

May is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Month, a time to honor the dedication, courage, and daily sacrifices of officers serving communities nationwide. In 2026, appreciation goes beyond saying thank you. With more calls, ongoing staffing shortages, and increasing paperwork, agencies need solutions that help officers be safer and spend more time out in the community, protecting and serving.

Many CentralSquare customers are turning to reliable, mission-critical artificial intelligence that is built right into the systems they already use.

A Connected AI Layer, Not Just a Single Tool

CentralSquare is changing how AI supports public safety by embedding intelligence across the entire process, from the first 911 call to dispatch, field response, investigations, and records management. Instead of isolated tools, agencies get a connected, CJIS-aligned AI layer that supports decision-making while preserving trust, oversight, and daily routines.

Centerline AI™ by CentralSquare is leading this change. Designed for demanding public safety work, CenterlineAI is built into Records Management Systems and is being expanded to dispatch, field operations, and investigations. Because CentralSquare manages the entire public safety technology system, Centerline connects data and workflows from start to finish, allowing officers to work more efficiently without switching between separate tools.

Mississippi County, Missouri: 90 Percent Less Time on Redaction

The Mississippi County Sheriff’s Office shows how embedded AI is making a real difference. Captain Barry Morgan says that tasks like report writing and redaction, which used to take a lot of time and effort, now take much less time. In fact, redaction time has dropped by up to 90 percent.

The time saved means officers can spend more time on patrol, investigations, and community engagement.

Great Falls, Montana: Hours of Reporting Down to Minutes

At the Great Falls Police Department, these tools are also changing daily routines. Officers there say AI helps them do more, but it does not replace their work.

“AI is not replacing the officer. It is making them more efficient,” said Captain Brian Black.

    Detective Patrick Levitt agreed, saying,

“Reporting went from four to six hours down to about 30 minutes. It makes everyone more efficient and keeps officers back on the streets serving citizens.”

He also mentioned that while the technology takes some training at first, the faster process quickly shows its benefits.

Extending Connected Intelligence into Live Response

While much of Centerline AI’s impact is seen in reporting, investigations, and records, the same need for connected intelligence exists during live response when seconds matter, and context directly affects officer safety and outcomes.

In December 2025, CentralSquare acquired FirstTwo, a responder intelligence platform that provides critical context before and during emergency response to more than 22,000 officers nationwide each week.

FirstTwo has since been integrated into CentralSquare’s broader platform, allowing responders, dispatchers, and supervisors to work from a shared operational picture. Centerline AI’s capabilities extend directly into FirstTwo, layering additional intelligence into the moments that matter most. This accelerates CentralSquare’s vision by bringing real-time responder intelligence into the same connected environment. Future expansion includes support for large-scale event coordination, multi-jurisdictional response, and interagency data sharing use cases where a connected AI layer adds the most value.

Built for Trust, Built for the Mission

Throughout every deployment, CentralSquare embeds accountability with human oversight, CJIS-aligned data practices, and full auditability. By reducing administrative burden, often saving 40+ hours per month per officer, Centerline AI allows officers to focus on what matters most.

During National Law Enforcement Appreciation Month, we honor both the officers who serve and those who lead by leveraging technology to strengthen public safety for everyone.
