Cloud technology is more accessible today than ever before, and yet many agencies still haven’t migrated to the cloud. To help public administrators and first responders unlock the benefits of the cloud, the CentralSquare team went on the road.

On July 10, CentralSquare hosted its first-ever Cloud Roadshow in Atlanta, GA. Hosted at the AWS (Amazon Web Services) office, it didn’t disappoint. The event brought together 25 attendees from 14 agencies across Georgia and Tennessee, including police departments, counties, school districts and colleges.

The overarching message was simple but powerful: the move to the cloud isn’t a distant goal – it’s happening now. Agencies like yours are making the switch and seeing real results. One such agency is Fulton County PD, whose Chief was one of our guest speakers.

The Cloud Roadshow is a practical look at what cloud adoption means for your agency. From migration planning to real-world success stories, each session delivered insights you can use.

Missed the event? Keep reading to explore the highlights, and discover what your agency can take away from CentralSquare’s Cloud Roadshow.

Opening Session: Why Cloud Now

The opening session of the Cloud Roadshow – Why Cloud Now – set the tone for the day with a compelling message from Joe Beasley, Senior VP of Sales, and Tony Jakusovas, Cloud Product Manager.

They shared that 84% of public sector agencies are ready to move to the cloud, which shows how fast the industry is shifting. Agencies are looking for ways to save money, improve security and meet compliance standards. Cloud solutions deliver on all three.

The session highlighted how cloud systems meet compliance standards like CJIS, while reducing IT headaches and offering unmatched reliability. CentralSquare, in partnership with AWS, has developed a seamless process to move agencies to the cloud with minimal downtime.

Whether you’re looking to reduce hardware costs or ensure 24/7 uptime, this session showed how possible it is. The cloud is both the future and the smart move right now.

Cloud Customer Testimonial: Fulton County Police

During the roadshow, Chief William Orgertrice Jr. from the Fulton County Police Department delivered a powerful testimonial. He highlighted why his agency became one of the early adopters of CentralSquare’s cloud solution.

After experiencing a cybersecurity attack, the department recognized the need for a more secure and resilient infrastructure. That incident became the catalyst for moving critical systems to the cloud. Chief Orgertrice explained how the transition has improved data security and given his agency greater confidence in their operations.

Moving to the cloud was a strategic investment for Fulton County PD. Thanks to CentralSquare’s cloud platform, the department benefits from enhanced protection and 24/7 access. Now their data is secure and their systems are always ready.

Cloud Implementation Overview: Easier Than You Think

In the session “Cloud Implementation Overview: Easier Than You Think,” Scot Garrison of CentralSquare walked attendees through the practical side of moving to the cloud. Turns out, it’s not as overwhelming as it may seem.

Garrison opened with real-world examples of successful cloud migrations, including Fulton County Police Department’s recent go-live. He shared detailed cloud project plans that demonstrated how agencies can move to the cloud quickly and with minimal disruption.

The session also tackled common misconceptions, such as long downtimes or complicated data transfers. Garrison dispelled those myths with lessons learned from recent CentralSquare implementations, reinforcing that a move to the cloud doesn’t have to mean starting over.

He closed by offering best practices that have helped agencies stay on schedule and on budget. For agencies ready to modernize, this session proved that the cloud is more accessible, achievable and beneficial than ever.

Cloud Connectivity and Cybersecurity

In another valuable session, Cloud Connectivity and Cybersecurity, Doug Gartner from AWS explained what secure cloud access really looks like for government agencies. The overarching theme was that cloud solutions don’t compromise security, especially if they use AWS.

Gartner explained how AWS provides reliable, encrypted connections to cloud environments. This allows agencies to access their systems securely, whether on-site or remote. He walked through the multiple layers of security AWS uses to protect sensitive data, including end-to-end encryption, identity access management, network protections and more.

He also emphasized AWS’s compliance with strict government and security standards. This level of certification makes AWS a trusted partner for agencies with sensitive data and strict security requirements.

CentralSquare partners with AWS for exactly this reason. AWS checks every box for compliance, performance, and security, giving public agencies the confidence they need to modernize. This session gave attendees a real-world look at how cloud connectivity can be seamless and secure.

Introduction to Centerline AI

The final session of the Cloud Roadshow – Introduction to Centerline AI – was led by Jeffrey Payton, an Enablement and Training Specialist at CentralSquare. He provided a live demo of Centerline AI, showcasing how the platform uses artificial intelligence to ease the administrative burden on public safety professionals.

Centerline AI is designed to save officers time and reduce burnout. It transcribes body-camera footage and generates accurate police report narratives in minutes. Officers can use customizable templates to complete reports faster, allowing them to spend less time behind a desk and more time in the field.

Payton also highlighted how Centerline AI integrates with your existing CAD and RMS systems, automatically pulling relevant case information for investigators. This creates a seamless workflow that minimizes repetitive data entry.

Centerline AI is a practical tool for public safety, designed to give time back to your team. It also helps your agency refocus on what matters most: serving the community.
