At CentralSquare, we know that trust is earned, not given. That is why we are spotlighting employees whose lived experience shapes the way they support our customers every day. These team members reflect what matters most at CentralSquare: responsiveness, collaboration, purposeful service, and drive to deliver for our customers.
Meet Chris McLuckie, a Senior Product Manager overseeing CentralSquare’s Community Development and Cash Receipts product lines. With a career spanning software development, municipal leadership and product innovation, Chris brings a rare combination of technical expertise and civic passion to every solution he helps build.
Chris’s path to product leadership is anything but traditional. He began his career as a software developer in 1999 and quickly found his calling in local government technology. Over the last two decades, he held IT leadership roles in municipalities across British Columbia, including the City of Nanaimo and the District of North Vancouver.
“Local government has always been the area where I can have the most impact in my career and still be able to kind of hold up my ideals of contributing to society,”

Having implemented many of the same systems he now manages as a product leader, Chris offers a unique perspective on what communities need and how technology can help deliver it.
Today, Chris leads three product lines, including a new portal technology launching within GovSquare. His mission is clear: improve product quality, streamline workflows and help communities thrive.
“One of the things that I have to do right now is community development and drive-up quality because poor quality puts our customers at risk,” Chris said. “I think my development experience helps ensure our product user experience aligns to our testing processes.”
Guided by purpose, Chris anticipates customer needs and develops solutions that make local government more efficient and responsive.
Recently, Chris traveled to Washington state to work directly with customers facing housing shortages. By applying his expertise, he is helping agencies improve permit turnaround times, an essential step in addressing the housing crisis.
Based in Vancouver, Chris supports customers across the U.S. and is working to expand CentralSquare’s reach in Canada. For him, CentralSquare offers the ideal environment to merge his technical skills with his passion for public service.
“If you’re passionate about local government, CentralSquare is an amazing place to provide value in a lot of different areas,” Chris said.
In his role, Chris demonstrates collaboration and purposeful service by partnering closely with customers to solve challenges and strengthen the tools they rely on every day.
Chris is also pursuing his Bachelor of Commerce in business and MBA to round out his business acumen, proof of his commitment to continuous growth. Outside of work, he’s a musician and plays bass in a Radiohead tribute band, all while raising a busy three-year-old.
Chris is one of many employees using their expertise to bolster communities across the country. Together, we are advancing CentralSquare’s mission to help agencies operate more efficiently, strengthen trust, and deliver extraordinary results for the people they serve.
