At CentralSquare, we know that trust is earned, not given. That is why we are spotlighting employees whose lived experience shapes the way they support our customers every day. These team members reflect what matters most at CentralSquare: responsiveness, collaboration, purposeful service, and drive to deliver for our customers.
Meet Jimmy Jones, Senior Manager of Product Management for CentralSquare’s Enterprise CAD and RMS platforms. After more than a decade in fire, EMS, and 911 dispatch, Jimmy brings key operational insight to the products that help first responders protect communities across the country.
Jimmy’s career in product management first began in the high-pressure world of emergency response. Based in Illinois early in his career, he worked as both a firefighter and a dispatcher. Both are roles that demanded quick decisions, technical precision, and calm under pressure.
“I spent 13 years in public safety,” Jimmy said. “I started in fire and EMS before moving into dispatch. That experience gave me a real understanding of how technology impacts every second of response time.”
When his department implemented CentralSquare’s Enterprise CAD system, Jimmy led internal training and configuration, becoming the go-to expert. That hands-on experience with the software sparked his interest in technology and opened the door to a new career path.
“I promised myself that even after leaving public safety, I would still find a way to make an impact,”
he said. “In product management, I get to do that every day by helping shape tools that first responders depend on.”
In his six years with CentralSquare, Jimmy has advanced from implementation services to leading the product team that manages one of the company’s most critical and widely used platforms. His unique perspective bridges the gap between technology and the realities of the field.
“When I first came into product, I had to unlearn my single-agency mindset and start thinking globally,” he explained. “Every department operates differently, and we have to build software that works for all of them.”
That mindset has driven Jimmy to lead with collaboration, curiosity, and purpose. Whether it is developing new features or guiding user experience design, he focuses on making systems intuitive for every type of responder, from the tech-savvy recruit to the veteran chief who’s used to a radio and paper log.
Jimmy approaches his work with responsiveness and accountability by listening to customer feedback, empowering his team, and helping agencies adapt to modern technology that improves efficiency and public safety outcomes.
For Jimmy, CentralSquare represents both opportunity and purpose.
“I came from public safety, where the mission is clear: protect and serve,” he said.
“Here, I get to continue that mission by building products that help those same people do their jobs better.”
He is also proud of the company’s culture of growth and inclusion. “In most tech companies, product management is full of people with MBAs and software backgrounds,” Jimmy said. “At CentralSquare, we value experience. You can come from the field, learn, and grow into leadership. That is something special.”
Jimmy is one of many employees using their expertise to bolster communities across the country. Together, we are advancing CentralSquare’s mission to help agencies operate more efficiently, strengthen trust, and deliver extraordinary results for the people they serve.
