Meet Rob Sanderson, an Account Executive on CentralSquare’s Public Safety and Justice sales team, serving agencies across Missouri and Illinois. After 22 years in law enforcement, Rob helps public safety agencies enhance their workflows and deliver improved service to their communities with foresight and a deep commitment to collaboration.
Rob’s career began in Gulfport, Mississippi, where he worked in a department still writing reports by hand. After Hurricane Katrina, he moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where he served in roles ranging from SWAT and undercover operations to managing a co-located dispatch center supporting eight agencies.
“Having been on the receiving end of sales pitches, I knew my approach would never be a traditional sales approach,” Rob said.
“My background gives me instant credibility with customers because I have been in their shoes. I understand what they are going through and can relate to their challenges.”
Rob serves with purpose by leveraging his firsthand knowledge to anticipate customer needs and respond with solutions that make a measurable impact.
Rob often works with groups of agencies where multiple decision-makers must collaborate. Drawing on his experience managing a shared dispatch center, he helps stakeholders find common ground and keeps projects moving forward.
“There can be tensions and competing priorities,” Rob said. “My job is to make sure everyone feels heard and guide the group toward a shared goal.”
Rob’s background helps him recognize challenges before they become problems and find practical solutions that everyone can support. Whether it’s getting police chiefs and sheriffs to work together or simplifying how records are handled, Rob’s foresight helps agencies collaborate more smoothly and save valuable time and resources.
For Rob, CentralSquare offers the chance to keep serving communities, just in a different way.
“My team is full of former first responders, so we speak the same language as our customers,” he said. “I get to use my experience to be creative, develop relationships, and solve real problems. That is what motivates me every day.”
In his role, Rob demonstrates what it means to stand shoulder to shoulder with our users and take ownership, leading intentional, accountable conversations with customers.
