Mustang Police Department Strengthens Community Safety Through Multi-Agency DUI Checkpoint

Keeping communities safe requires consistent preparation, coordination, and trust across agencies.

On December 27, the Mustang Police Department partnered with Union City Police, the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office, and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol to conduct a joint ENDUI DUI checkpoint and saturation patrol. The effort focused on deterring impaired driving and protecting motorists during a high-risk holiday travel period.

Preparing for a Coordinated Operation

Effective checkpoints begin well before officers take their positions. Lieutenant Dylan Wilson of the Mustang Police Department led preparation efforts to ensure the multi-agency operation ran efficiently and with minimal administrative friction.

• 35 vehicles stopped
• 22 citations issued
• 23 warnings issued
• 4 DUI arrests made

Each interaction reinforced accountability and helped reduce the risk of impaired driving on Mustang’s roads.
